The city of Balchik is a well-known sea and spa resort located in the north part of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. It features many amenities and sights of interest such as the 3-mile long sandy beach with a nice yacht club, Queen Maria’s palace, the magnificent botanical garden which is the biggest in the Balkans and many more. Two miles east of the city is situated an area called Tuzlata renown for its medicative mud which is highly recommended for bone associated diseases. The area is turned into a large spa resort and balneological center with many campings, bungalows, hotels, recreation facilities built, etc. There are also hot mineral springs in Balchik area and in the city itself which have been used for internal diseases treatment for ages. The city is less than 30 miles away from Varna and its international airport and within 15 minutes by car there are some other great sea resorts such as Albena, Kavarna (with its annual international summer pop&rock festival), etc.
